    More inspiration :)

So school has been more busier than usual and I'm trying to get through one day at a time. Learn so much, and my professor said OB/Labor&Delivery/Postpartum is one of the happiest floors to be on. I can definitely see that where patients are usually healthier and it's a more positive experience. I also think music majors would probably make super Obstetric nurses... Since I know many if not all have trained their ears to hear different off keys in music, they can definitely use that sense of hearing to differentiate between the accelerations and decelerations of the fetal heart monitor machine.

Anywho, here are some quotes that helped me got by ~ (posted on my facebook hehe)

May the bird of my love
    escape from the cage
    of personal limitations
    and fly
singing the song of the Spirit
    through all hearts and minds.
    ~Paramahansa Yogananda

It happens to everyone as they grow up. You find out who you are and what you want, and then you realize that people you've known forever don't see things the way you do. So you keep the memories, but find yourself moving on . . .

Don't let someone's opinion change you into someone you're not.

If you listen to your fears, you will die never knowing what a great person you might have been. - Robert H. Schuller

Your darkest moments only last as long as you allow them to. Just learn from the past and welcome the new dawn.

There are victories of the soul and spirit, even if you lose, you win. -Elie Wiesel

Success is how high you bounce when you hit bottom.

Never forget the people who have believed in you.

Be better than you were yesterday.

    三人行,必有我師焉:擇其善者而從之,其不善者而改之。― Confucius
When I walk along with two others, they may serve me as my teachers. I will select their good qualities and follow them, their bad qualities and avoid them.

There are people so poor, that the only thing they have is money.

熟能生巧 [shú néng shēng qiǎo] (Chinese idiom)
Literally: "with familiarity you learn the trick"
    / "practice makes perfect"

    *****
Chen Yaozi (陈尧咨) lived during the Song Dynasty (宋朝) and was a famous archer. Because he was such an excellent s...hot, he became a bit cocky about his skill.

One day, Chen Yaozi demonstrated his archery skills to a large group of people. Everyone was awed that his shooting was accurate, that is all but one man.

Chen Yaozi took notice of this old man's indifference. "Hey, are you an archer? Can you do better than me?"

The old man shrugged off his scolding. "Well, you are really good at what you do. So what? It is only a matter of practice."

"How dare you insult me! What skill do you have, old man?" asked Chen with resentment.

So, the old man got a gourd which contained oil, a coin with a hole in the center, and a ladle. He put the coin over the mouth of the gourd, and poured oil from the ladle through the hole in the coin. Not even one drop of oil touched the coin!

Everyone was just as amazed at the old man's skill as they were with Chen's. "This really isn't anything special, I’ve just been at it for a long time" replied the old man.

Chen conceded that the man had a point and was afterwards more humble.

From this story, the phrase 熟能生巧 arose. It means with time, a skill can be mastered with after plenty of effort.

Love others and have love for yourself, then celebrate all the possibilities that the future may hold for you. - Brad Nickason

Be more concerned with your character than your reputation, because your character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are.

“The primary cause of unhappiness is never the situation but your thoughts about it.”
    ― Eckhart Tolle

    Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! Here are some quotes that stuck out to me :)

heartHappy Valentines to all those who are taken, almost taken, taken for granted, waiting to be taken, assumed to be taken, and those who aren't taken seriously.heart

Your Energy of Love is so Powerful; That it can Heal anything, including your Future. ♥

The only way I could be lonelier today is if the Internet stopped working.
This Valentine's Day, I'm going to fantasize I had a very romantic dinner before masturbating myself to sleep. ((LOL))

Show me anger and I will show you hurt. Show me hurt and I will show you Love. Peel the layers if you really can. ~ Rumi

So spent V Day alone today and I didn't feel too bad. Compared to some of the previous years I felt I've grown in a sense, the time alone has helped me get to know myself and enjoy my own company. Got a deeper meaning of that quote, "Just because you are alone, doesn't mean you are lonely."

I've been dreaming more about school lately. In the dreams, I've felt as though my actions were more deliberate, concise, and cause more people around me to be frustrated at me. Yet the awkward thing is that I also felt frustrated. I usually don't get angry but I felt I could have came off spiteful in the dreams. I hope to let Love dictate my actions and words. Still trying to keep at it. Have a test and few assignments due tomorrow. Went to the clinic today and saw so many people transitioning into the life of motherhood.

Made me think about how I would like the world to change for their lives to be 'better.' My friend who specializes in Anthropology says that people are trying to stay away from the word 'culture.' When I blog, and someone responds, that is a culture in the making. However if I play around and say, "I'm American," "I'm Vietnamese-American," "I'm gay," "I'm Catholic," "I'm Spiritual," I start to play around with people's perception of what they may think each of those words may mean. Trying to learn more to be myself, to just be. Everyone is so powerful :).

How has Xanga changed or impacted your life?

How has Xanga changed my life? Even though I haven't blogged on here for quite a while, it has definitely changed my life in a positive way.

I first began to blog in high school, and I was a lot more introverted at the time. It was one of my outlets where I was able to share my life with people around the world. I was accepted and made wonderful friends (some who came and go but definitely left lasting footprints in my heart). My thoughts were all over the place. As I kept blogging my style changed. When I went to revisit some of the blogs, it made my eyes turn because I couldn't believe I was so different from when I first began. I am able to better process and organize my thoughts since I'm use to seeing them all written down.

I came out of the closet online first. Those who knew me online were very accepting and kind. I got to know so many different people and their hobbies that I started to love everything. I remember never giving a thought about techno music until I came across a girl who was into eurobeats and techno a lot. I eventually got into it and ended up liking it.

Xanga has definitely helped me and 'changed' my life as cheesy as it sounds. Were you to post something in the comment, my thoughts and I can change base on what you type happy. I use to believe that people can't change others easily by justifying the idea that "oh they can't change me, and remain solid in my thinking." Looking back on it now I see a lot of change because of those types of thoughts. How can Xanga not change your life? These are doorways into people's lives, thoughts, experiences, and reflections they have throughout the day. Xanga changed my life because it gave me the opportunity to connect with others and vice versa.

I just answered this Featured Question; you can answer it too!

PS. I have to say the same about other blogging sites I've used too... What makes Xanga unique to me is that you can really customize all the layouts!
